When was Milwaukee Fashion Week Founded?

The first iteration of Milwaukee Fashion Week was launched in 2014 with the last showcase displayed in 2019. Unfortunately, COVID had an untimely impact, disrupting the continuance of MKE FW from that point. In 2022, with the success of Fashion Fest MKE, a team was formed to bring back Milwaukee Fashion Week to a post-COVID audience: Reimaged. Redefined. Renewed.

Is there an age limit for participants? Attendees?

Participants - age limits may vary depending on the event; Attendees - there is no specific age range with exception of age limitations placed by potential venues. Please note: it is up to the parent and/or legal guardian's discretion for anyone under the age of 18 to be in attendance at any event during the week. Additionaly if alcohol is served it is in accordance with state age regulations. Currently, our Sunday event is the most "family friendly" including various activities for kids to take part in.

What time should I arrive?

We encourage early arrival for all shows to avoid lines and more importantly, network in the fashion scene! Doors typically open at least 30 minutes prior to the event start. For more information regarding start and arrival times, please visit our events calendar. 

What should I wear?

We want to see your authentic self shine! In our current week lineup, Monday through Wednesday are casual, while Thursday and Friday are more dressed up. Be red-carpet ready for Saturday. For Sunday, be sure to dress weather-appropriate, as the family-friendly event is outdoors. As for all the days, be camera & selfie ready, we love highlighting attendees. Can I bring a camera to take photos?

If you are planning to bring a professional camera, please see our media application. Photos can be taken during the show; we ask that you follow the instructions and guidance given for each respective event.

What is the difference between Milwaukee Fashion Week and Milwaukee Fashion Foundation?

Milwaukee Fashion Week is a week long celebration of local fashion that Milwaukee Fashion Foundation hosts. Both serve to elevate and uplift the fashion community however Milwaukee Fashion Week takes place once a year as a set of events. Our charity partner, Milwaukee Fashion Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that supports Milwaukee Fashion Week and local creatives.

Can I get up from my seat during the show?

We ask that all attendees stay seated during the actual show and time will be designated in between sets. Should you need to leave your seat, we ask that you attempt to wait until the designer segment has concluded before leaving and/or returning to your seat.
